Hatch Chile Cooking Classes

Wondering what to do with
all those lovely Hatch chiles you've bought? Several cooking classes, with great Hatch chile recipes, are being offered.

Aria Gollner, Dallas, sent
me information on a Getting Ready for Fall & "Chile" Weather class being given at the Market Street store in Colleyville, TX, Thursday, September 3rd, 6:30 to 8:30 PM, $45.00. Here's the blurb:

More recipes for the tasty Hatch green chile from New Mexico. Taste the true flavor of the Southwest as Chef Anne Legg discusses the preparation and storage of green chile for use throughout the year. Menu includes Shortcut Posole (hominy & green chile soup with pork); Green Chile-Grilled Cheese Sandwiches; Tamale with Shrimp & Green Chile Pesto; Corn, Red Onion & Green Chile Sauté; and Dulce de Leche Ice Cream & Biscochitos (without the gratuitous use of chiles!).

Central Market also offers Hatch cooking classes at all its locations in Texas. Check for dates and times. Be sure to attend the last weekend of the Hatch Chile Festival, today, August 28th through Sunday, August 30th.

Aria attended a Hatch chile cooking class at Central Market in Austin a few ago and sent along the recipes from class. I'll be posting them in a few days. Thanks, Aria!
