in San Antonio, New Mexico--winner of Bobby Flay's throwdown!
I searched the web, but couldn't find the recipe, though the ingredients are listed in the above-linked article. The beef is seasoned with granulated garlic, then cooked to perfection and topped with green chile (of course!), American cheese, lettuce, pickles, chopped red onions, tomatoes, and mustard. Guess I'll either have to duplicate the recipe or go to Manny's Buckhorn Tavern for a green chile cheeseburger. I'm guessing it wouldbe totally worth the trip.
As owner Bob Olguin says of his world-famous green chile cheeseburger, "The green chile cheeseburger should taste
like going to heaven..."

That cheeseburger would be awesome to try!
ReplyDeletethat sounds wonderful!! My Hatch green chilies arrived on my doorstep this afternoon!

ReplyDeleteLooks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteHave one for me!
ReplyDeleteBob Olguin reheats his chile's with a little powdered garlic before they go on the burger. Once you have one of these burgers you are addicted. We grow our own chile's in Kentucky (start them in March indoors for our climate, plant in May). We roast them and vacuum seal them for the freezer, and we have green chile's all year. Our addiction started many years ago after a visit to New Mexico.
